What Do I Need For My Roof?

1) Liquid-Applied Waterproofing (seamless membranes)

Winkler ONE – Liquid Roof Membrane

• Best for: Refurb overlays on felt/asphalt, complex details, balconies and walkways.
• Why: Single-component ease, UV stable, anti-slip build options.
• You’ll also need: Compatible primer (substrate dependent), reinforcing fabric at corners/penetrations, Ultraflex Sealant for detail sealing, trims.

Desmopol Liquid Polyurethane Waterproofing Membrane

• Best for: Flat roof overlays, podiums/terraces, intricate upstands.
• Why: Fully seamless PU membrane with high abrasion/chemical resistance.
• You’ll also need: Matched primer (concrete/asphalt/metal), reinforcement bandage at changes of plane, UV topcoat where specified, trims (e.g., Ultraflex Trims).

Hydradek Waterproof Roof Coating

• Best for: Roof refurb where a tough, anti-slip finish is needed.
• You’ll also need: Substrate primer, aggregate broadcast for slip resistance, trims/outlets.

2) EPDM Single-Ply (sheet membranes)

ClassicBond EPDM

• Best for: Simple, low-complexity roofs on timber decks; fast, clean installs.
• Why: Long service life, low maintenance; great for extensions and garden buildings.
• You’ll also need: EPDM adhesive (deck/perimeter), primer for tapes, internal/external corners, outlets, Roof Trim kits. 

Resitrix EPDM

• Best for: Robust EPDM with heat-welded seams; refurb and new build.
• You’ll also need: Approved primers/cleaners, detailing components, edge trims.

3) GRP / PMMA & Hybrid Systems

Flexitec 2020 GRP

• Best for: Fast-cure refurb, complex shapes with reinforced laminate strength.
• You’ll also need: Primers (substrate dependent), reinforcement mat, Roof Trim, topcoat.

GRP Roof 1010

• Best for: Traditional GRP lamination; small to medium roofs with clean detailing.
• You’ll also need: Resin & catalyst, reinforcement mat, trims, topcoat.

4) Cementitious / Balcony & Podium Waterproofing (under finishes)

MAPELASTIC ZERO  – Flexible Waterproof Mortar

• Best for: Podiums, planters, balconies/upstands prior to tiles/screeds.
• Why: Flexible Type A barrier; bridges hairline cracks; tile-friendly.
• You’ll also need: Cementitious fillets at junctions, reinforcement band at changes of plane, protection/drainage board if backfilled.

5) Trims, Sealants & Accessories

• Ultraflex Trims – drip/edge trims for liquid systems.
• Ultraflex Sealant (PU) – detailing, movement joints, terminations.
• Roof Tools & Outlets – outlets/vents compatible with liquid and EPDM systems.
• Vapour Control Layers (VCLs) & Insulation – for warm roof build-ups.
