Newton HydroBond products can be pre-applied below the concrete raft/slab and wall building line or post-applied after removing conventional formwork to expose the outside of basement walls. Depending on the structure, the HydroBond range provides a continuous waterproof barrier, protecting against groundwater and ground gases like radon, methane, and carbon dioxide.

Type A Waterproofing

Defined by BS 8102:2022, Type A waterproofing is “barrier protection” applied to either the internal or external surface of a structure to resist water ingress. Type A membranes are essential for “tanking” basements, ensuring water is kept out. External barrier waterproofing membranes include pre-applied, self-healing sheet membranes and post-applied liquid membranes that connect to the above-ground DPC, fully encapsulating the basement in a continuous waterproof layer.
