Application Process

Step 1: Surface Preparation

• Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of debris.
• If applying over a waterproofed surface, ensure the Wykamol HydroTank system or similar coating is fully cured.

Step 2: Membrane Installation

• Roll out the CM8 Geotextile Membrane against the external wall or structure.
• The geotextile side should face outward to allow water filtration while preventing soil ingress.
• Cut the membrane to fit around any penetrations or obstacles.

Step 3: Fixing the Membrane

• Secure the membrane using Wykamol Brick Plugs or other mechanical fixings, spacing them approximately 500mm apart.
• Ensure overlaps of at least 100mm between membrane sheets to maintain an effective drainage system.

Step 4: Drainage System Integration

• Install a perimeter drainage system, such as a land drain or Wykamol Drainage Channel, at the base of the wall to direct water away from the structure.
• Ensure the drainage system leads to a suitable discharge point, sump, or soakaway.

Step 5: Backfilling

• Carefully backfill with clean, coarse gravel or a free-draining material to enhance water movement.
• Avoid sharp objects or large stones that could damage the membrane.
