How to apply — live leak repair (illustration only)
- Safety & isolation checks: Follow site procedures. PPE, pressure/temperature awareness, permit to work if required.
- Surface prep (fast): Abrade/roughen where accessible and wipe clean. For severe jets, use a clamp or thumb to reduce flow.
- Wrap & Seal application: Stretch the tape to activate self-fusing; wrap tightly from 50–100 mm below the leak, over the leak, then beyond, building layers.
- Structural overwrap: Soak SylWrap HD in water, then spiral wrap with 50% overlap under tension. Consolidate by hand for a smooth, rock-hard finish.
- Cure & check: Allow the stated cure; visually inspect for seepage. Add additional bandage if specified for higher pressures.
How to apply — isolated line (cold repair)
- Isolate & drain: Ensure the line is depressurised and dry (as specified).
- Prepare defect: Abrade to bright metal (pipes/tanks), remove loose corrosion and clean.
