CEMPROTEC 2000-S Flexible Waterproof Sealing Tape
CEMPROTEC 2000-S is a high-performance, flexible waterproof sealing tape designed to provide a highly flexible and impermeable seal over live cracks, expansion joints and construction joints. The composite elastomeric tape is tear-resistant, breathable and permanently flexible, with typically over 600% elongation and the ability to accommodate joint movement of up to 100% of the joint width.
Designed to be embedded within compatible polymer-modified cementitious waterproofing coatings, CEMPROTEC 2000-S provides a durable flexible joint detail for demanding waterproofing applications. It can be used for cracks, construction joints, expansion joints, wall/floor junctions and wall/floor angle details. The tape is impermeable to water under pressures of up to 10 bar and is WRAS approved for use in contact with potable water.
CEMPROTEC 2000-S is compatible with CEMENTITIOUS COATING 851, CEMPROTEC 851F, CEMPROTEC E942, CEMPROTEC ELASTIC and CEMPROTEC E-FLOOR and E-FLOOR HB. For joints where a high degree of movement is expected, CEMPROTEC ELASTIC can be used as the finishing coat.

Application Guidance
The substrate should be sound, clean and free from dust, oil, grease, corrosion products and organic growth. Smooth surfaces should be roughened and loose material and surface laitance removed. The concrete sub-base should have a minimum strength of 20MPa, with surfaces fully saturated but free from standing water.
For cracks and joints, the tape is installed centrally over the joint and embedded into a compatible CEMPROTEC cementitious coating. The data sheet specifies applying a 1mm coating layer extending at least 20mm beyond each edge of the tape, embedding the CEMPROTEC 2000-S without wrinkles and then applying a final coating layer to fully encapsulate the tape.
For expansion joints, additional slack should be left in the tape to accommodate the designed joint movement. Where additional protection is required, a second tape can be installed. Externally exposed joints and cracks should have the tape fully encapsulated to protect it from UV exposure.
For tape intersections and overlaps, the data sheet specifies using a 100mm length of CEMPROTEC 2000-BJT self-adhesive butyl strip or alternatively joining an additional length of tape with a 1mm layer of compatible cementitious coating and a 100mm overlap.
