Mapeband TPE comes in two widths: 17 cm (Mapeband TPE 170) and 32.5 cm (Mapeband TPE 325), both 1.2 mm thick and reinforced with polyester fabric along the edges.
To use Mapeband TPE, bond it with Adesilex PG4, a two-component epoxy adhesive. The "TPE" stands for Elastomeric Thermoplastic Polyolefin, a type of material that combines the best features of thermoplastic polymers and synthetic elastomers.
Mapeband TPE can be welded with a Leister electronic hot air blower, or it can be joined using the "cold-weld" method by applying Adesilex LP, a solvent-based poly-chloroprene adhesive, to both surfaces. This method allows you to create continuous seams or custom pieces, ensuring a waterproof seal.
The tape stays flexible and adaptable, even in cold temperatures, and is resistant to aging, even when exposed to weather. It also offers strong resistance to alkalis, bitumen, mild acids, diluted lye, and salt solutions.
