High‑Penetration Epoxy Damp‑Proof Membrane for High‑RH Screeds

Clever Shield presents Mapeproof ESM, a two-component, solvent-free epoxy resin moisture barrier designed for cement-based substrates with elevated residual moisture. The low-viscosity formulation penetrates deeply into substrate porosity, delivering superior damp-proof protection even in high-humidity conditions.

Key Features

• Two‑component epoxy system: Part A and Part B supplied in pre‑measured 3:1 ratio for accurate mixing

• High moisture tolerance: One coat up to 92% RH; two coats up to 97% RH—suitable even on heated screeds when double-applied 

• Low odour & solvent-free: Ideal for use in occupied environments like hospitals, schools, and offices 

• Deep penetration: Low viscosity ensures maximum adhesion and substrate consolidation 

• Excellent durability: Strong resistance to moisture, abrasion and temperature, with bond strength > 3 N/mm²

Application Guidelines

• Prepare substrates: mechanically abrade new surfaces, remove contaminations, dust, adhesives; fill cracks with suitable epoxy filler

• Mix components just before use—low-speed paddle mixer until uniform 

• Coverage per coat:

  • 5 m² per 1 kg unit (two-coat system)

  • 20 m² per 4 kg (as comparative) 

• Allow first coat to cure (approx. 5 hours), then cross-roll the second coat at right angles for uninterrupted coverage 

• Apply Eco Prim T Plus or Eco Prim Grip Plus primer within 24 hours after the second coat—unless surface is blinded with sharp sand into fresh epoxy 

• For underfloor heating screeds: use only two-coat system; commission UFH prior to application and follow cure protocols (cool down and off period after full cure) 

Technical & Storage Data

• Unit size: 1 kg kit (0.75 kg Part A + 0.25 kg Part B)

• Temperature range for application: +10 °C to +30 °C

• Workability: ~90 minutes at 23 °C (120 min @10 °C; 60 min @30 °C)

• Setting time: ~3–4 hours at 23 °C; full cure in ~7 days 

• Shelf life: up to 24 months in original sealed container; store out of frost
