Wykamol Renovation Plaster is a BBA-approved, fibre-reinforced, lightweight cement/lime plaster designed for replastering after the installation of a damp-proof course (DPC). It effectively controls dampness and salt migration while allowing walls to breathe and dry naturally.

The high-performance formula includes perlite aggregates to reduce heat loss and condensation, improving thermal efficiency. Incorporated fibres prevent cracking and crazing, while waterproofing additives enhance durability and protection.

Application Guidelines:

📌 Apply in coats of 10–15mm thickness (multiple coats for thicker applications).
📌 Leave to set for a minimum of 24–48 hours before skimming or painting.
📌 Only use breathable finishes like permeable paints initially (avoid vinyl paints, wallpaper, or tiles until fully dry).

Recommended Application Thickness

• Base Coat Thickness: Apply in coats of 10–15 mm thickness. Avoid exceeding 12 mm per coat for proper curing.
• Layering for Thick Applications: For overall thickness greater than 20 mm, apply in multiple layers with drying time between coats.
• Total Thickness: Typically, a two-coat application results in 15–20 mm total thickness, ideal for damp-proofing.

Drying and Curing Times

• Initial Set: Approx. 7 hours under normal conditions.
• Before Finishing Coat: Minimum 24 hours, preferably 48 hours, before applying skim coats or paint.
• Full Cure / Drying: May take several months for walls with previous damp issues before applying impermeable finishes.

Substrate Preparation & Priming Requirements

• Remove Old Material: Strip all old gypsum plaster, paint, and loose debris.
• Keying the Surface: Rake out mortar joints and roughen smooth surfaces for better adhesion.
• Priming: Dampen high-suction backgrounds or use Wykamol SBR primer for better bonding.
• Avoid Bridging Damp-Proof Course: Leave a 50 mm gap above floor level to prevent moisture bypassing the DPC.
• Angle Beads & Metal Fixtures: Use stainless steel corner beads and non-gypsum fixing methods to avoid corrosion.

Compatible Finishes & Decoration

• Skim Coat Finish: After 24–48 hours, apply a 2–3 mm finishing coat (e.g., Thistle Multi-Finish or Wykamol High Impact Plaster).
• Paint & Decoration: Use breathable emulsion paints; avoid wallpapers, vinyl paints, and tiles until the wall is fully dry.
• Compatibility: Works with Wykamol damp-proofing systems (e.g., tanking slurries, injected DPC treatments).
