PPS PowerMaxx2 Battery Backup Unit for V-Series / V3 Pump Systems
PPS PowerMaxx2 is a dedicated battery backup unit designed to maintain operation of below-ground pump systems during a mains power failure. It provides a manufacturer-engineered solution for protecting basements and other vulnerable structures where uninterrupted pumping is critical.
Primarily designed for use with PPS V-Series groundwater pump stations, including V3 systems, the PowerMaxx2 helps maintain drainage during power outages in residential and light commercial installations.
Battery Backup for Below-Ground Pump Applications
The PowerMaxx2 supports one or two PPS V3 groundwater pumps operating on a non-simultaneous basis during a mains power failure. In normal conditions, the unit remains fully charged and switches automatically when power is lost.
Based on a typical duty cycle of approximately 10 pump activations per day, the system can provide up to 7 days of backup power, depending on installation conditions and pump demand.
Once mains power is restored, the PowerMaxx2 automatically recharges using its integrated compact quick charger, restoring the battery from empty in approximately 25 hours.
Intelligent Power Management
The PowerMaxx2 incorporates Dynamic Polling (DyPol) technology, supplying power only when required to maximise backup duration and battery efficiency.
A digital display provides operational status and fault diagnostics. An internal non-volatile event log records system activity, and a user menu allows reset of the battery service indicator following maintenance or battery replacement.
System Integration & Monitoring
The PowerMaxx2 can operate as a standalone battery backup unit or be installed alongside the AlertMaxx2 EC High Level Alarm for additional monitoring and alert functionality.
The system is designed to power one duty pump at any given time and is not intended to supply simultaneous battery power to multiple pumps.

The PowerMaxx2 is designed, tested and supported for use with PPS V-Series groundwater pump stations, including V3 systems.
Compatibility with alternative pump configurations should be confirmed prior to specification, taking into account electrical load, duty cycle and site requirements.
