Ecofin Pro is a high-performance polyurethane liquid waterproofing membrane designed for long-term waterproofing of new roofs and refurbishment projects. Once applied, it forms a seamless, fully adhered and flexible waterproofing membrane suitable for a wide range of substrates and roof configurations.

The system is suitable for flat and pitched roofs, balconies, terraces, walkways, inverted roofs, green roofs and aquatic zones, with excellent adhesion to substrates including bitumen, torch-on felt, OSB, single-ply membranes, asphalt, concrete, mortar, metal, PVC, tiles, ceramics and brick.

For the reinforced wet-on-wet system, the manufacturer specifies approximately 1.2kg/m² for the initial coat, followed by approximately 300–500g/m² to fully saturate the reinforcement. Actual consumption varies according to substrate condition, roughness, porosity and application.

The completed system requires Ecofin Protect aliphatic polyurethane topcoat where UV exposure and an official guarantee are required. Ecofin Protect also provides additional wear resistance for areas such as balconies and walkways.

Can Ecofin Pro be applied directly to existing roofs?
Yes. Ecofin Pro is designed for new roofs and refurbishment applications. Existing roofs should be inspected first and must be structurally sound, with defective areas repaired before application.

What substrates can Ecofin Pro be applied to?
It has demonstrated adhesion to wood, metal, concrete, plywood, bitumen, PVC membranes, asphalt, bricks, tiles and ceramics. In most cases, a primer is not required, although substrate condition may affect preparation requirements.

How much does a 15kg tin cover?
The brochure states approximately 8–10m² per 15kg tin, depending on the substrate. The actual coverage will vary according to surface condition and application.

Does Ecofin Pro require reinforcement?
The recommended system uses 225gsm reinforcement matting applied using the wet-on-wet method. The reinforcement is fully saturated with Ecofin Pro to create the completed waterproofing system.

Can Ecofin Pro be used on vertical or pitched surfaces?
Yes. Tixal can be added to Ecofin Pro to increase its consistency and help with vertical, pitched and detailed areas. The brochure specifies a maximum of 500ml of Tixal per 15kg drum.
