High-Performance 1K Polyurethane Moisture Barrier for Screeds Up to 97% RH

Get rapid, reliable moisture protection with Mapei Mapeproof 1K Turbo, a single-component polyurethane surface membrane designed to control residual moisture in cement-based screeds. Ideal for preparing substrates prior to installing timber, vinyl, LVT and other resilient floor coverings.

This solvent-free, low-odour formula is ready to use straight from the tin—no mixing, no waste, and fast turnaround times for installers working to tight schedules.

Key Features:

• Fast drying: Tack-free in 30–40 minutes, ready for light foot traffic in approximately 60 minutes

• Moisture-tolerant: Apply to screeds up to 92% RH in one coat, or up to 97% RH with two coats

• Single-component: Ready to use with brush, roller, or trowel application

• Solvent-free & low VOC: Suitable for use in enclosed or occupied environments

• Substrate reinforcement: Penetrates and consolidates weak screeds for a stronger bond with floor coverings

Application Guidelines:

• Ensure the substrate is clean, sound, and free from rising damp

• Wait 40 minutes to 2 hours between coats, depending on site conditions

• If covering with levelling compound or flooring after 24 hours, fully broadcast with dry quartz sand into the final wet coat and vacuum away excess once cured

• Compatible with reactive adhesives; always follow recommended adhesive guidelines for timber or vinyl installations

• Coverage: Approx. 0.20–0.40 kg/m² per coat

• Pack size: 10kg tin

• Shelf life: Up to 12 months when stored sealed in a cool, dry place between +5°C and +35°C
