ClassicBond Contact Adhesive
ClassicBond Contact Adhesive is a high-strength, solvent-based bonding adhesive specifically formulated for flat roofing applications. Designed to deliver fast, reliable adhesion, it performs consistently even in extreme temperature conditions.
This adhesive is ideal for bonding angle changes, steep slopes, vertical details, and perimeter upstands when installing ClassicBond EPDM roofing membranes.

Coverage Guide
1.0 Litre – covers approx. 1–2 m²
2.5 Litres – covers approx. 4–5 m²

Suitable Surfaces
ClassicBond Contact Adhesive is designed for application using a spreader brush or short-pile roller. It is suitable for bonding ClassicBond EPDM membranes to a wide range of approved surfaces, including:
- Brick and render
- Timber and plywood
- Concrete
- Metals and plastics
- Approved insulation boards
Please note: This adhesive must not be used with expanded polystyrene.
Application – Upstands
Apply contact adhesive to both the upstand and the underside of the EPDM membrane using a 4" mini roller. A 150mm-wide strip of contact adhesive must also be applied around the deck perimeter to prevent membrane lift caused by structural movement. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bonding.
Application – Non-Permeable Decks
Apply contact adhesive evenly to both the deck and the underside of the membrane using a roller. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry (typically 5–20 minutes) before carefully rolling the membrane into position.
Important: Once bonded using contact adhesive, the membrane cannot be repositioned.
