Universal Pipe Repair Kit – For Live Leaks

The SylWrap Universal Pipe Repair Kit is used to permanently repair live leaks and burst pipes, enabling the user to fix a leaking pipe even when water pressure cannot be turned off.

Repairs can be made in under 30 minutes to pipes of any size made from copper, PVC plastics, steel, stainless steel, malleable iron, GRP, ceramic, clay, concrete, lead, and rubber.

The Universal Pipe Repair Kit is used to fix leaking pipes in domestic plumbing and for large-scale pipe repair in industry. Because flow does not need to be isolated when using a Universal Kit, sites can avoid costly and disruptive shutdowns of systems.

All the products in the Universal Kit have been WRAS approved and so can be used safely on pipes carrying drinking water. The Kit makes pressure resistant repairs up to 30 bar, is temperature resistant to 200ºC, and is effective on pipes carrying hot and cold water and chemicals.

SylWrap Universal Pipe Repair Kit details – How to fix a burst pipe and repair live leaks

The Universal Kit contains Superfast Epoxy Putty, Wrap & Seal Pipe Burst Tape and a SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage.

Superfast Epoxy Putty is a hand-kneaded putty which is applied to pipework to help seal the leak. It removes step from joints and facilitates the application of Wrap & Seal. To use Superfast Epoxy, you cut off the amount of putty required and mix it by hand until it turns a uniform colour before applying it to the area of pipe requiring repair.

Wrap & Seal Pipe Burst Tape is a waterproof repair tape which stretches by 300%. It is made from self-fusing silicone and when wrapped over pipework, fuses into a solid rubber band which seals the leak.

Each Universal Pipe Repair Kit comes with one Wrap & Seal Tape. For high pressure industrial repairs, further Wrap & Seal may be required to build up pressure resistance. The SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage is a fibreglass repair wrap with a water-activated resin. It is wrapped over the Pipe Burst Tape and will set rock-hard, providing an impact resistant, protective layer over the initial repair.

For regular pipe repair users, Sylmasta have developed the SylWrap Contractor Case containing enough products for up to six pipe repairs. The Case is easy to store either on the van or on site and works out at a cheaper cost-per-repair than buying individual Pipe Repair Kits.
