Eagle Bitumen Trowel Mastic is a heavily bodied bituminous mastic designed for sealing joints, cracks and splits in a wide range of roofing and building materials. It provides instant water resistance, making it ideal for maintenance, repair and remedial applications.
The mastic adheres strongly to roofing felt, asphalt, concrete, asbestos cement and metal, including guttering and drainpipes, and is particularly suitable for localised repairs where rapid weatherproofing is required.

Application Overview
Surface Preparation
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from oil, grease, dirt and loose material.
- Remove moss, algae or organic growth and treat with a fungicidal wash if required.
- Wire brush rust from metal surfaces and bolt heads before application.
- Prime porous surfaces with a compatible bitumen primer and allow to dry fully.
Application Method
- Lubricate tools lightly with white spirit or paraffin to aid smooth application.
- Apply the mastic by trowel or putty knife, forcing it firmly into cracks and joints.
- Smooth the surface to ensure full coverage on either side of the repair area.
- For cracks wider than 3mm, embed glass fibre scrim and apply a second coat.

- Coverage: approximately 2m² per litre at 2mm thickness
- Drying time: varies depending on film thickness, temperature and weather conditions
- Heavier applications will take longer to dry fully
