Eagle Bitumen Trowel Mastic is a heavily bodied bituminous mastic designed for sealing joints, cracks, and splits in roofing and building materials. It provides instant water resistance, making it ideal for maintenance and remedial work on roofing felt, asphalt, concrete, asbestos cement, and metallic guttering & drainpipes.

Application Guidelines:

Surface Preparation:

1. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, dirt, and organic growth (e.g., moss or lichen – use Fungicidal Wash if necessary).
2. Wire brush rust from bolt heads before sealing.
3. Prime porous surfaces with Bitumen Primer and allow to dry thoroughly before application.

Application Method:

1. Lubricate tools with white spirit or paraffin for smoother application.
2. Apply by trowel or putty knife, forcing the mastic into cracks and joints.
3. Smooth out the material on either side of the crack or joint.
4. For cracks over 3mm, reinforce with glass fibre scrim and apply a second coat of mastic.

Coverage & Drying Time:

• Coverage: Approx. 2m² per litre at 2mm thickness.
• Drying Time: Varies based on film thickness and weather conditions (heavy applications take longer to dry).
