Waterproofing an Amazing Underground Space - Basement extension conducted in Hertfordshire. Designed to give a dual waterproofing scheme in accordance with Bs8102.
This was an incredibly challenging project and there was a podium deck waterproofing scheme which also needed a design as well as a retaining wall.
When site work commenced and the dig started Wykamol were on site to check on progress and to make sure that the pile walls were going to be OK.
When the concrete walls and deck were installed Wykamol attended site and commenced site checks on the waterproofing membrane installation which was a type of Cavity drain system.
Prior to this the crystalline slurry Hydra dry was specified as a primary waterproofing coating.
The podium deck - Flexible tanking system Hydra flex was used alongside the Wykamol movement bandage system proflex.
In all this was a very robust specification which it needed to be with the depth and size of this large basement structure.
Again, regular site visits were conducted throughout the build to ensure the design was met.
Like the retaining wall which the client wanted a waterfall building into it, again the waterproofing on this wall needed to work alongside this waterfall as not to penetrate the membrane and cause issues.
Such an amazing project with Wykamol design and Wykamol BBA products being used throughout.
