Solar-Reflective Protection for Bituminous Roofs and Metal Surfaces

Eagle Aluminium Paint is a thin, bituminous-based aluminium coating formulated to provide light and heat reflectivity. The reflective aluminium finish helps reduce solar heat gain and slow UV-related degradation of existing roofing materials.

Once cured, the coating forms a durable silvery finish that protects bituminous coatings, aged asphalt and correctly primed steel surfaces, extending service life and improving thermal performance.

Application Overview

Surface Preparation

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and structurally sound.
• Remove grease, dirt, rust, moss or lichen using appropriate cleaning methods.
• Dusty or weathered bitumen surfaces should be primed with a compatible bitumen primer and allowed to dry.

Application Method

• Stir thoroughly before and during application. Do not thin.
• Apply using a soft-bristle brush or mohair roller with light pressure.
• Apply two thin coats rather than one thick coat.
• The first coat should lightly cover the surface; apply the second coat once the first is dry.
• Avoid excessive build-up or pooling.

Drying & Weather Conditions

• Touch-dry in approximately 1 hour, depending on temperature and humidity.
• Do not apply if rain, frost or heavy dew is expected before drying.
• Bronzing may occur if applied outside recommended conditions.

Recoat Waiting Times Over Other Coatings

• Hot-applied coatings: minimum 24 hours
• Solvent-based coatings: minimum 3 days
• Water-based coatings: minimum 14 days

Safety Information

• Highly flammable: keep away from ignition sources.
• Use appropriate PPE and follow site safety procedures.
