How to Use Sylmasta Fibreglass Tape

1. Surface Preparation – Clean and roughen the surface for optimal adhesion.
2. Apply Epoxy Resin – Coat the repair area with Sylmasta E190 Brushable Epoxy or an equivalent resin.
3. Wrap the Tape –
   • Standard Repair: Wrap the epoxy-coated area with Fibreglass Tape, then apply another layer of epoxy.
   • Confined Spaces: Cut strips of Tape and press them into the epoxy rather than wrapping.
   • Patch Repairs: Brush epoxy directly onto the Tape, then apply it to the pipe or tank surface.
4. Layering Process – Continue alternating epoxy and Fibreglass Tape layers until the repair is complete.
5. Final Curing –
   • Work Time: 30 minutes
   • Hard Dry: 16 hours
   • Full Cure: 24 hours

💡 How much Tape is needed? The required Tape length is three times the pipe diameter per wrap layer (e.g., a 150mm pipe with five layers needs 2250mm of Tape).
